Lessons from the Garden #3 -
Gratitude
| |
I
am grateful for so many things. Grateful for the dawn,
the promise of a new, exciting day. I am grateful for
the sunset, the beauty and magic of a rainbow. I am
grateful for a peaceful night filled with colorful,
happy, thoughtful dreamtime. I am grateful for my
health, my family, and my friends and for all beings on
this earth. I have been so so fortunate to be able to
travel a lot this year and meet so many interesting and
wonderful people, and to see and experience how other
cultures and groups live on our beloved planet.
Gratitude is one
of the lessons I have learned more deeply by being in my
garden. I have learned to appreciate the sprouting seeds
of beet greens and with just a little rain, how these
greens grow so quickly and lusciously. I am so very
grateful for the rain and the cooler, moist weather we
have been receiving here in Central Texas the past few
days. Our parched land, our withered trees have needed
this moisture and I so much appreciate its long-awaited
arrival.
The expression of
Gratitude is something I practice each and
every day. When I awake in the early morning, I give
thanks for the night and I give thanks for all that I
experienced the previous day and all that I hope to
experience this new day. This is a practice I learned
from one of our modern day Avatars, Wayne Dyer. Wayne is
a brilliant man, full of love and light, a man who has
shared his wisdom with so many through his numerous
books and public television seminars. If you get a
chance, seek out his teachings and he will inspire your
growth.
Thanksgiving is upon us and many
of us will share food, fun and frolic with family and
friends. Treasure these times, feel your gratitude,
express it and spread it. Life is full of joy and love
and beauty and with each day the opportunity to embrace
this beauty is upon us.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you
and I am so very grateful for all who share these few
moments with me.
Many Green Blessings,
Ellen
